The Goldberg era began last night with what normally has to happen for
him to go over, other people talking. His entrance to the ring as the
WWE Champion was as good as it was in the WCW. The problems began when
he grabbed the mic. Luckily Stone Cold came out and bailed him out to
handle the talking.

Ladies match was actually pretty good, Trish continues to make you
respect the fact she wants to be known for her wrestling and not her
looks, Kudos to her. Lita was rusty, but that is to be expected. Gail
Kim seems to have learned from Molly Holly or just cut out the high risk
moves and has now become watchable as a wrestler, Overall a good match.
Would like to see Lita go heel and take on Trish, I think that would be
entertaining.

Test, Steiner, Stacy. This appears to be going nowhere fast. The only
thing left to do is have Stacy go heel and Steiner have another valet. I
still think Steiner should be pushed as a heel and maybe some matches
with him and Goldberg could be good. These 2 as dangerous as they work,
might actually get into a real fight in the ring.

La Resistance vs Hurricane & Rosey...Yes, I still refuse to call Rosey
his other name. Not a bad match as Hurricane continues his RVD
impression and Rosey keeps getting better each week. The Dudley's coming
out after the match and shaking the hands of Helms and Rosey still makes
you wonder how long that friendship will go on. The Dudleys right now in
the WWE are Tag Team Wrestling. Maybe some sort of combination of
Evolution gets involved in the Tag Team division now.

Mark Henry vs Tommy Dreamer..This was the match the WWE gave us to allow
for a bathroom break. Horrible

RVD vs Christian.... I know RVD has alot of fans and out of the ring he
is a super nice person, I just get tired of seeing the same moves
telegraphed week in and week out. Christian is becoming very good as a
heel and has good mic skills. His routine of , Excuse Me, Over Here is
funny. Maybe these 2 hand the belt back and forth a few times, or maybe
they wait on Booker T or Edge's return for a belt change. The ladder
match next week should be very good though.

Evolution vs Jindrak, Cade, Maven...This match had me stumped as to
where they were going with it. Lately it has appeared Maven had
something going with Orton and might be joining him as he took Evolution
out from under HHH. Jindrak was strongly considered as the newest member
for Evolution, until it was decided to wait on Batista's return. Good
match of HHH and Flair putting over the young guys. I still do not know
where they are going with this and I can't help but think it has
something to do with Orton taking Evolution over. HHH's comments about
the fans needing him more than him needing the fans did appear to go
over the line. It seemed to just ensure his status as the major heel is
intact as he leaves for a brief time.

Coach, Al Snow as the announcers... Coach actually does a pretty good
job as a heel announcer. Al Snow just has no business being at a table
with a microphone. Problem is, how long can the gimmick of a heel
announcing crew work. Lots of fans love heels but still the majority
love faces. I do not think JR, who also is a VP in the organization and
Jerry The King Lawler will be gone for long. These 2 do have the
knowledge and mic skills to work any kind of major event.

Goldberg vs Jericho.. Is Goldberg just snake bitten? At a recent PPV he
falls down on the ramp after doing his leg kick. Tonight the door does
not open cleanly for him on his way to the ring. Think someone backstage
is playing jokes on him? If this guy could learn some more moves and be
able to carry a match that goes beyond ten minutes, he would be great. I
guess with HHH leaving for a bit, he is the best choice right now to
hold the title. Sure would be good to see him face Stone Cold, or Taker,
or Angle, or Brock. Jericho gave his usual, I am better than you people
performance. His arrogance is top notch. He still lacks the size to be
respected as a long lasting Heavyweight. I still can't get past looking
at how high his heels are on his boots to make him at least respectable
in size. Overall, a pretty decent match with Goldberg almost killing him
at the end. Just does not seem like a long running feud will work with
these 2. I think to beat Goldberg you need some size on you. I know it
is not fair but to Vince, size matters.
