subject: Alinco DJ-S11T Mod

Here's a mod for the little Alinco DJ-S11T 2 meter handheld which
also works with the 70cm version. It opens the receive only
 frequencies from 144.0 - 148.0 to 136.0 - 174.0 MHz.
Great for a quick check of NOAA weather!

 1. Remove batteries
 2. Remove 4 screws inside battery compartment
 3. Remove 3 screws on upper backside of the radio
 4. Gently remove the back of the radio. Be careful of the
     thin gasket.
 5. Place the radio front down with the top to the top of your
     work surface.
 6. On the left of the circuit board is a tiny micro surface mount
resistor. It is the only component on that side of the board.
Use a very small pair of dikes to clip and remove. Or use a
very low wattage soldering pencil to heat and remove.
 7. Reassemble the radio, being very careful of the tiny gasket.

 73, Bill
