THE "STICK" SIDE OF THE STORY 
 
If you'd like to hear our side of the story, as to details of why we 
brought a lawsuit against Mark Warr of Warr Guitars and his business

This is in response to the "Warr Guitar Defense Fund" letter that was 
published here, austensibly as a "public service".  This Warr fund letter 
was also "spammed" in April to over 100 Internet music news groups and 
mailed or e-mailed to our Stick customers around the world. 
 
The letter, entitled "Chapman StickŪ Sues Warr Guitars and Players, 
Help!!!", erroneously attacks the validity of our lawsuit, and in the 
process demeans us personally and professionally while advertising and 
promoting the Warr Guitar. In effect their letter demands that we put our 
case before the public, as they have now done, rather than restrict it to 
courtroom and settlement processes as we would have preferred. 
 
We have no complaints against players of the Warr Guitar or any musical 
instrument, two-handed tapping or otherwise.  We are seeking relief from 
damage caused by Mr. Warr and four of his business associates over the past 
three years.  They have engaged in persistent and concerted efforts to 
misuse and undermine our "Stick" trademarks, to exploit our confidential 
customer lists, and to attack our business through the channels we 
ourselves established. 
 
While closely identifying themselves with the "Stick" name and reputation 
we and the many excellent Stick players have built over the last 23 years, 
they have needlessly disparaged our products, services and business (see 
details on our Web page). 
 
I hope you'll understand that this is how we must defend ourselves, and the 
world wide reputation on which we do business, also the decades of work 
that has gone into the promotion, improvement and teaching of The Stick by 
myself and many other excellent Stick playing musicians. 
 
After you read the litany of unfair business maneuvers used against us, I 
hope we'll have your support, or at least your awareness and concern, as we 
certainly are in need of this.
