Can't be done.  OS/2 doesn't work that way.  What you want are the low
level text API's (VioWrite or something like that), or perhaps the
"curses" package.

Text output could be in a window, so you can't just write directly to the
screen and assume you're in full screen text mode.  besides, what if your
app is currently in the background, not being shown at all?  What if the
number of rows/columns changes?
