   I think you are speaking of the Grumann XF-5 "Sky Rocket". Only
 one was ever built.  I have a couple of very poor pictures of it.
 It looks like an "Ironing Board" with engines on one side and
 fuselage on the other...
   I posted an article on it some time ago..
