I am just dropping you a line to let you know about a new release you might
be
interested in. It is called *Time Factory* by *NUKLI*. Its really worth
checking out if you're into original "progressive/psychedelic" music.
The Band "NUKLI" were part of the Free Festival movement that existed briefly
in the Eighties, before it was crushed by the authorities. Often playing
alongside bands such as "Ozric Tentacles", "Ullulators" and "Magic Mushroom
Band", they were influenced by eclectic range of musics found at the free
festivals, especially psychedelic improvisation. By the time the music on
this
album was recorded, it had been honed down to tight arrangements with plenty
of room for improvised sections. The music is woven together by strange and
bizarre soundbites and weird music, vaguely similar to "Spirit's" "Future
Games".
This album has been commissioned from the band's archive material by Delerium
Records (http://www.delerium.co.uk), a small independent record label in the
UK, who's main act is Porcupine Tree. There is no advertising budget for this
album, so I am hoping that by sending messages to specific people and sites
who may be interested in NUKLI's style of music, I can generate interest in a
project that deserves some support.
Thank you for your time.

I am trying to locate National Health's "Of Queues and Cures" on cd, but
have not had any luck. Is it available? If so, where?
I have "National Health" and "Missing Pieces", which I really like. How
does "D.S. al Coda" compare to their earlier stuff? Thanks.
Scott
[_Of Queues and Cures_ is available on CD. The album was released by Spalax
Music as a single disc. Or, you can get the entire album as part of
_Complete_, which contains all three National Health albums on 2CDs.
_Complete_ is on the East Side Digital label, the same that released _Missing
Pieces_. Both should be available from the usual mailorder outlets....mt]

Subject: marillion review reaction

David Palmer posted a negative review of a recent live show given by
Marillion. I respect his opinion having not seen that particular show. I
have caught Marillion at "La salle Albert Rousseau" in Quebec City on
Friday September 5. It was one of the best shows I have seen in recent
years. The band played a nice mix of recent and older songs and the
execution was near perfect. What made this evening special was the
warmth between the band members and the crowd. The fans were frantic,
giving standing ovations after standing ovations. The band members, and
esspecially Steve Hogarth, were touched by this reaction. He mentioned
it had been a very long time since they faced such a reaction, and at a
few occasions cried out "oh! What a night". The only deception was a
show lasting only a bit more than an hour, but they came back and played
for another 45 minutes, so all was great.

Hello everyone,
I am currently trying to secure an on-air time slot
on WRUV FM 90.1 (University of Vermont, USA, college radio)
to DJ a progressive-psychedelic-experimental show.
The mission for my show will be:
1. Creating exposure for new prog/psych/experimental bands & projects
& labels (independent labels only!)
2. Playing "Classics"
I am interested in hearing from bands that would like to get
on-air exposure. Please contact me at
meistro@vbimail.champlain.edu
Thank you,
Sean "Meistro" McAusland
