| subject: | Re: OS/2 8-16 megs |
[performance of os/2 with 8 megs is disappointing compared to dos/windows] if anyone ever told you os/2 would be a runner compared to dos/windows and maybe additionaly that dos/windows apps run faster than under plain dos/ windows he/she simply lied to you, period. (there are some actions that perform better/quicker under os/2 than under dos/windows, but generally those action do not outweight the performance penalty that os/2's emulations and the wps have on the general performance.) if your are working with apps like winword, etc. and want to stick with os/2 you should definitely buy 16 megs. if you are a programmer, consider jumping to 32 megs, especially as a 32 meg configuration with two 16 meg ps/2 simms is relative cheap compared to a 32 meg configuration with four 8 meg ps/2 simms...(gently presuming you have a ps/2 simms motherboard...) bye bye --- CrossPoint v3.0 R* Origin: B.G.: Wen erpressen wir heute?
