I did manage to *fix* the problem, seems if you use a TTF (True Type Font) it
and it doesn't support ANSI codes it'll display gibberish, also found out

if you use the default font: TERMINAL and set the font size to a point higher
than 10 it sends gibberish, anything below or above 10 and that's what I'd
get,
garbage, I set it to a point size of 10, and wham, bam, there was the ANSI in
its bright and shining colors! So you may want to try that, funny thing is
*COULD HAVE* sworn I tried that at least once before. But it's working now
and
I ain't about to mess with it again and get it NOT working. :)
