Well at least now I can spell it!!!! And the class was great!!!! Sandy, my
mother and I all attended with some of the other students coming from as far
as Tucson Az and several hundred miles north of here to take this class! The
class was full with the 13 of us in a sweltering heat! Thank goodness for Air
Conditioning. My mind was constantly going "oh???" now I see! And of course
I have been playing as much as possible as I worked on getting things ready
for the installation of my cabinets... YES they have arrived and will be
installed tomorrow!!!! I am just so excited!!! Of course I had to pull one
out of a box just to look ... and they are beautiful!!!! The builder will
be here first thing in the morning to do the installation! So by tomorrow
afternoon I will be filling them up with all my crafting goodies... I will
start with the fabrics no doubt and then go box by box... I will have Jerry
set up my computer and stuff in the new computer station for me so that I can
play with all my goodies for the first time in months!
Now as to keep some of my dear friends off my back ... I
promise to go slow. I will not over do things I give you my word... I know
that some are a bit concerned right now about my current health status, but
not to worry, because I am not going to do anything that will put me in
jeopardy... you can be assured of that!
Once I get all my goodies put away I will be able to concentrate on my
sewing and quilting again. It is just next to impossible to do any sewing
amid all the confusion in this studio right now. Heck I cannot even get into
the bathroom right now because I have so many things moved into the bathroom
for this installation.
Now back to the Pergamano....
I did my first composition today using "perferation" of the paper with a
perferating tool... and it came out really very nice IMHO... I of course have
a great deal to learn here and will be working at that for a very long time.
I also picked up a number of books, as did my mother and we are sharing the
patterns and information in the books... there is also a magazine that I am
considering subscribing to and I am finding a number of patterns for
Pergamano on the internet right now.
The work is time consuming on each piece as there are a lot of "lacy" and
delicate moves to doing this type of parchment craft... and your hands can
quickly become tired from the pressure embossing. And best of all there is
no end to what can be done to combine this with my RS'ing and believe me that
is definitly the direction I will be taking in no time at all... I just want
to get the hang of things first before I start really combining this medium
with another.
Oh, there is just so much crafty stuff going on in my house right now... I
only wish all of you were here to share it with me and see it all!!!
