The Artist Shop had a great chat with Larry "Synergy" Fast last week with 
special thanks to the folks at Talk City.  During the chat Judy Markworth 
won an autographed copy of Cords.  Larry's trivia question was to identify 
what the covers of Cords and Peter Gabriel's second album had in common (no, 
that they were both in black and white wasn't what he was looking for).

And speaking of chats, we've got a big one lined up for you this weekend! 
On Sunday, September 14 at 4 pm eastern time The Artist Shop and Talk City 
will bring you a chat with Marillion!  Present for the chat will be vocalist 
Steve Hogarth, guitarist Steve Rothery and keyboardist Mark Kelly.  This 
special time will accomodate all our friends and Marillion fans in Europe 
since it'll only be 9:00 or 10:00 in the evening there.  And even our 
friends and fans in Japan and Australia can join in if they don't mind 
getting up around 6:00 or 7:00 in the morning.  Find out how to access the

AOL browser so you shouldn't have any trouble.  Also, on the IRC page I've

Apologies to the folks who pre-ordered the ELP/King Biscuit discs.  It seems 
that King Biscuit underestimated the demand for this album and did not print 
enough in their first run to meet that demand.  Quite a number of stores, 
The Artist Shop included, got left out in the cold.  But I did get my first 
shipment of them over the weekend and most of the orders for them were 
shipped out Monday.  Another shipment is due to arrive to me this week, so 
those few that didn't get shipped on Monday will be sent out soon.  It is my 
personal belief that the cause of this is really a resurgence in the 
popularity of Emerson, Lake and Palmer.  Last year's tour with Jethro Tull 
was a real blast.  Now they've just wrapped up tours of Europe and South 
America (including a killer performance at the Montreux Jazz festival) and 
recently started their North American tour (I'll see them in Cleveland). 
Not only is there much buzz about these shows, but rumors are running 
rampant that the next album in the works is going to be a concept album and 
a return to the old way of doing things and that they plan to resurrect 
their old Manticore label.  Actually these rumors are 100% true having been 
confirmed to me by Keith's personal manager, Will Alexander.  A note on the

, although the track listing on the 
first disc says that the 4th track is 'Piano Improvisations,' it is actually 
Keith's performance of the first movement of his piano concerto with Carl 
adding percussion flourishes here and there.  Don't forget, you'll also find

Domo Records, home of Kitaro, is undergoing some stylistic expansion. 
Currently known for New Age and World Music, they are taking a bold step 
into the area of Progressive Rock/Fusion with the release of the Rudess 
Morgenstein Project.  This powerhouse duo features Jordan Rudess on 
keyboards and Rod Morgenstein on drums.  Rod is a long time member of the 
Dixie Dregs and the band had recruited Jordan for their last tour.  One 
night during that tour a power failure suddenly cut off the guitar, bass and 
violin rigs.  For unknown reasons the keyboards remained unaffected.  What 
followed was a spontaneous 10 minute drum/keyboard jam which inspired the 
creation of this project.  You'll find cover graphic and soundbite for this

Also, Bon Lozaga's Project Lo and Caryn Lin have been firming up their

love them, they are having a big problem with distribution as are many 
labels today!  Too many labels with great music are falling right off the

distributing to retail stores.  If any of you own retail stores and would 
love to stock some of the titles you see in The Artist Shop, please drop me 
a note.  Or if there is a store in your neighborhood which leans towards
