Yoo Hoo, Bill!
BN> Does anyone know if WDW will allow a person bring in food from the
BN> outside gates to carry in case of an emergency. If we ever get to
BN> WDW I will ahve to have a carry bag with my medications as well as
BN> some emergency snack items in case I have problems with my diabetes.
BN> There are times that I can't wait in line to get something. When I
BN> need the emergency snack I need it then and not 15 minutes later.
You will find Disney very accomodating to your needs. Each Park will
gladly store your insulin in a refrigerator for you, and there are
private rooms for injections. While you may be questioned about your
munchie stash, I don't believe you'll have any trouble getting it in.
When you first arrive (or earlier), ask for their "Guide for Visitors
with Handicaps." While this is mostly wheelchair access information, it
also details the location of first aid centers and phone numbers you
might need. Also, never hesitate to ask *any* cast member for
help--even the janitorial staff are trained to help out in situations
like yours.
Bill, it's good to hear you're feeling well enough to consider travel
again. WDW is a good test of anyone's stamina, but on the (thankfully)
few occasions I or someone I was with needed help, it was promptly and
graciously provided. Pack up those Hershey bars and come on down!
