subject: ALMS: Mosport: Alex Job Racing qualifying report

First and second on the grid

Jorg Bergmeister put the No. 24 Alex Job Racing
McKenna/mail2web.com™ Porsche 911 GT3 RS
in GT pole position during today's qualifying session for the
Toronto Grand Prix of Mosport. He will start from the first row of the
GT class after qualifying the Porsche at 1:19.441. His qualifying time
eclipsed the qualifying lap record, set in 2002 by AJR teammate No. 23
driver Lucas Luhr.

This is Bergmeister's second pole of the 2003 ALMS season. He
earned his first pole at the Infineon Grand Prix of Sonoma.

The No. 23 Alex Job Racing Porsche with Luhr behind the wheel battled
his teammate Bergmeister for pole position but ended up an extremely
close second a close .012 seconds behind with a qualifying lap time of
1:19.453.

Jorg Bergmeister, No. 24 McKenna/mail2web.com™ Porsche 911 GT3 RS:

"It's amazing that I got that fast lap the first lap out.
I'm really pleased that we had a battle, it's always good fun
to be so close and to have such competition and it makes it even better
that it's our team car. All four of us like the competition amongst
each other. We're even competitive off the racetrack. I'm
looking forward to more battles with my teammate and other teams
tomorrow."

Lucas Luhr, No. 23 McKenna/mail2web.com™ Porsche 911 GT3 RS:

"I was so close and really driving flat out at the end. I wish I
could have had a few more laps. I like racing like that, but it's
also not as fun as being on the pole. Using the car and tires sensibly is
important too."

Alex Job, team owner of Alex Job Racing:

"This is a good day at Mosport. We finished one-two with the 24 car
taking the pole. Lucas finished unbelievably close. It really was a great
run from both Jorg and Lucas. The Ferrari is getting much closer and
it's going to make for a good race tomorrow."
