Arthur's original Rama remains one of my all time favourite novels,
one that gets dusted off and reread every year or so. I do hope they
produce a movie that captures the sense of wornder and mystery the
story generated for this ex-youngster.
My only concern is that many of Clarkes' books have been mined for
script ideas for years, V and ID4 come to mind for Childhood's End,
and the explore the mystery ship scenario as been done over and over
in lot of movies since the book came out. It would take a lot to make
it really stand out.
So I hope Morrgan Freeman gets his way with a 'Grade A1' script and a
top notch production.
Anyone else notice Tom DiChiara's factual mistake? Rama never enters
Earth's atmosphere, actually no where near Earth (most of the book is
set inside Venus' orbit).
