I dont know much about VB so i cant answer all of these but:
There isnt much disscusion of firstbasic and this is cause Powerbasic3.5
is the current version of that product line.It is very compatible with
powerbasic but some improvements and new features are there.I downloaded
firstbasic and loved it,i used it far past the 30day period and it is
not crippled.It has a great help but if you pay the $25 you will get
lots more info and help for it.After using it for a while i downloaded
trypb32,a sw version of powerbasic 3.2.It is even cooler than firstbasic
was,but it cannot load files or use librarys,and cuting and pasting stuff in
gets to be a pain in the neck.besides pb3.5 is lots better still.Finally  i
ordered pb3.5 last week and soon it will come in mail,finnaly i will have
the coolest basic there is.Ok im digressing.
  Basicaly,
      )dont look for a lot of firstbasic specfic disscussions but
       most powerbasic issues are relevant to firstbasic.
      )Firstbasic isn't watered down in any way
      )registering it will get you cool stuff that will help.
      )firstbasic programs can accept comand line arguments
      )Look on the net for "All Basic Code" or ABC.get thier
       reader and download thier packets.It has lots of cool
       stuff for all basics and this includes powerbasic.
      )read this ng a lot and you will find lots of tips.
