Hi Rich,
I was just down at WDW the second week of June. Although it wasn't as long a
visit as Bruce is taking, it is still the best place in the world to me.
his
past trip was our family's third in four years. Just had to go back for the
twenty-fifth celebration since I first WDW back in late November 1971.
We had lunch one day at the Crystal Palace and did get autographs from Pooh,
Tigger and Eeyore. There was a wide selcetion of food to choose from and it
was all very good. The price was a bit on the high side ($65 for 5 people),
but it was worth every penny to see my girls' faces (9 and 6) when the
characters came over.
You forgot to mention my favorite place at MGM to eat - the 50's Prime Time
Cafe. My wife an I ate there last year and decided that we had to tkae the
kids the next time we went. The kids just couldn't figure out what mom and
dad
were carrying on the way we did. The really funny part was the kids seein
ll
the old TV shows. They see one and say "We saw that the other night on
cable".
Again, the food was excellent but the tab ($60) was a little high there too.
The prices we paid were high but I consider part of the cost includes the
atmosphere. There nothing like that DISNEY MAGIC!
I guess the best part of the trip for me was riding up from in the monorail.
As we were leaving MK, we decided to try and get a seat up front. The first
one that came already had folks sitting up there and they were going on.
However, the next monorail that came in was all ours. My son and oldest
daughter rode up front from MK thru the Contempory over to the T&TC. Boy did
we get some weird looks from folks at the Contempory :)
We still had to get from the T&TC back over to EPCOT where we started our day
so we decided to try again. As luck would have, we got the first monorail
that
pulled in going to EPCOT. This time, the wife and all 3 kids rode up front.
Not much of a ride along the interstate but once inside EPCOT, it was
fantastic. EPCOT had already closed for the day (it was about 11:30) so the
park was empty except for cast members. However all of the lights were still
on and the monorail made the big circle around Spaceship Earth and you could
see everything. It was a beautiful site. When we got off at EPCOT, the
rier
gave us all our Pilot's License and even took a couple of photos of all of us
in the front seat. I'll hold on to that picture for a long time!
Well, I've taken up enough space so I'll bow out for now. I already making
plans for the next visit (hopefully next year).
Bruce - have a great time and ride the GM Test Track once for me (if it's
open).
