| subject: | F-Prot Sig Defs |
Effective 5-4-06 I will no longer be maintaining the special/separate F-Prot Sig Defs for native DOS ... HOWEVER, I *will* start distributing Sig Defs for F-Prot for the Linux platform, which *seem* to be one and the same . Simply copy/replace the MACRO.DEF, SIGN.DEF and SIGN2.DEF files to/at your runtime location (currently the same location as F-PROT.EXE for DOS). Please notify me of any problems encountered with DOS, for my own edification. Personally, I use f-prot (server version) under Linux Mandriva 2006.0 which gives me access to any/all O/S files currently supported (Linux ext2/3, DOS/Win fat12/16/32, Win ntfs, plus numerous others ). Thus, I can scan all DOS, Windows and Linux volumes simultaneously (which I do quarterly). The current Sig Defs, contained in file DEF3FP.ZIP, will be hatched weekly on Thursday. The DEF3FP hatched yesterday is current as of May 3rd 2006. -- Be well :^) : Ben aka cMech http://bellsouthpwp.net/c/m/cmech617/ : + WildCat!
