Yes. Synchronet doesn't actually store LFN's, so it requires an OS API to
translate between and short and long filenames. *nix OSes don't have such an
API.

addfiles would have to call an OS function to get the short filenames. I know
of no such API/function for Linux.

The OS (or file system driver) is determining what the actual short filename
will be. I would need a programmatic method of querying what that short
filename is.
