Bob...you seemed like an intelligent man...have you looked inside your 
modem??  Do you know what it takes, hardware wise, to go from 288-336?? It's 
nothing more than a software leap.  ZyXEL stated in a news release that they 
did want to soak any time into a dead technology.  It would be like asking 
MicroSoft to raise the DOS barrier from 640 to 680...who cares.  lets move 
onto NT or OS/2.  BTW, I had an engineer friend look inside my 2864 and was 
more than impressed with the hardware.
