I just sent the address, and thanks!

It's just amazing that you are getting into road kill as a subject. Most
folks find the subject less then appealing, but there are more then a few
that are really drawn to it.

Have you ever studied the work of Joel Peter-Witkin? His stuff is very
controversial, very weird, make that VERY weird. I would love to have one
of his books, but they are pretty expensive.

I love your phrase, sometimes you don't need to Photoshop pictures! Heck,
folks did without for -- how many years? :) A good darkroom person can do
most of what Photoshop does anyway.

I will say, though, that burning and dodging is so much more precise in
Photoshop -- and if it doesn't look good, you can always delete and start over!

I get pretty bummed out when I shoot dead critters on the road, though last
year, I went as far as dragging a dead raccoon to my wife's back yard, too
the head and buried the rest -- with a proper ceremony. Unfortunately, i
left the head in the small cage back in the woods too long, and with some
strong rains, it -- melted, I guess, because it was gone!

A biologist once commented on my black bear skull, wondering why the lower
canines seem to come further forward then the uppers, yet the mandible
looks as if it is placed correctly. Don't ask me. The skull washed up into
someone's yard after a flood. They lived near a river. I traded a
photograph for it. Judging from the wear of the teeth, the skull appears
to have come from an older animal. Maybe it got lucky and died of old age.

Have fun shooting!

Carl
