Looks like I was at least partly wrong about cable Internet access
being a flop because of the poor resolution of an average TV set.
This company will include some embedded code in the hardware unit
to improve the resolution of text on a TV screen, probably using
anti-aliasing stuff (to get rid of that stair-step effect you get
with a letter W for example). The columnist who reported this said
the idea would fail for another reason -- the price, about $500 US,
more than most people pay for an entire stereo system these days.
It would work at about 1/2 that price.
