We use the Britta filter - because "Britta tastes better" and have been
using one for several years now.  Coffee and tea taste better.  The
filters claim to take out lead and copper.  A friend of ours was
allergic to copper salts in the water from old plumbing systems, but
had no problems with the Britta water.
