If they would have done it instead of talking about it, I might still be
living there. Nah. There's still the muggy summers and hay fever to look
forward to...

Make it 15 and the lucky part is a moot point. I sat along side a buddy and
a third sat off in a corner when we took the general code. I copied
everything perfectly. Never a doubt in my mind. My buddy (who was looking
over my paper) sez that my "1 watts" (notice the s in watts) answer was
wrong, it shoud be 10 watts. I said I didn't make a mistake. As it turned
out, he missed the test by one question. Yup...

I too learned a lot of radio theory back in the 60's. I missed the Advanced
by 1 stinking question on my first try. 30 days later, I presented my self
for the next test. Problem was, they switched the tests on me and all the
questions were now about solid state theory. Missed that test by only 3. I
finally tested the third time and passed the Advanced. All I was after was a
different callsign. N6AGT, my general call, was a tongue twister (worse CW
call ever), but better than WD6DOI, which is a nice CW call, but too long for
voice contesting. I didn't care about the extra (no pun) privileges, just
the call that began with a K. Now I'm wondering if I should try for the
Advanced Vanity call of K6ROI, K6ROY, K6RJW? I'd really like W1TT....:)
Probably all taken..
... 1024x768x256.... Sounds like one mean woman..
