| subject: | NHRA: Brainerd: Jeg Coughlin Saturday summary |
Jeg looks to score another win After the final day of qualifying Jeg and his JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier landed in the No. 4 position. In the third session Jeg posted a run of 6.971 at 199.70 mph. The car launched from the starting line and was on the aggressive side. Jeg remained in the No. 6 position. "We over estimated the track and were just too aggressive down low," said Jeg. "The positive side is that we know what not to do on race day." The final session was in the heat of the day. The two-time reigning NHRA POWERade Pro Stock champion posted a 6.908 at 200.86 mph. The run was an improvement and he moved up to the No. 4 spot. "Our team picked up the pieces and rebounded well in the final qualifying session," said Jeg. "We learned a lot through qualifying that should really put us in a stronger position on race day." Jeg and his yellow and black JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier will go head-to-head against Gene Wilson in the opening round. --- http://www.motorsport.com -- your source for motorsport news on the Internet --- Synchronet 3.10L-Win32 NewsLink 1.43 --- SBBSecho 2.00-Win32* Origin: There Can Only Be 1 http://www.tcob1.net (2:263/950) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 261/38 140/1 106/2000 633/267 |
