Hi, Jeff;
JE> Looking for a 7.5v @ 12Amp transformer.
JE> Anyone?
That's an oddball. What's it for?
Not sure, but you might try Johnson Shop Products in Cupertino, CA.
They seem to be one of those places that buys up overstocks and surplus
stuff from manufacturers and stores for almost nothing, then sells them
really inexpensively. Most of their stuff is new, some is pulls from new
equipment, but they have all kinds of oddball stuff that you just can't
find anywhere else.
Their catalog shows an open-frame transformer with 3 secondaries,
including one 15 Volts @ 5 Amps Center Tapped. You could use half of that
secondary and get your 7.5 Volts, and if you are feeding a rectifier, you
should be able to get 10 amps from a full wave (2 diodes) circuit, which
should be an easy mod. If you aren't using the other two secondaries, you
MIGHT be able to get away with pulling 12 Amps from it. It only costs
$7.50 + Shpg, (6.5 Lb.).
You might drop them a line or give them a call, because they MAY have
exactly what you need that isn't in their catalog.
