I've been using a teflon dry-lube product, not specifically made for bike chains, with similar results. It sprays on wet, and then the vehicle evaporates, leaving a teflon powdery dry-coat which seems to repel dirt. And, as it's sprayed on, the vehicle carries the Teflon into the rollers and hidden places. I haven't heard a skweek or seen rusty chain in a while, and it's super-humid here!
