Hi Brenton,
I 've just finished watching your 4 corners tape. Thanks
for that. It was rivetting stuff. I had no idea that Bill Gates has it
in mind to rule the World. What a twit! He can't even buy the right
size trousers and he thinks he can rule the world. Surely, with all
that money, there must be someone to tell him his trousers don't fit.
He doesn't seem to have an arse!

It was also nice to see a couple of Australians with a brain, who
realise we are being rooted up the bum. Two out of four isn't bad.
How about that Petrie Turd? (the Oz M$ man). He'd be a good bet
for Creep of the Year. What a creep! I loved it when he explained how
open Microsoft was, and then explained why he wouldn't accept a
competitor's advertising - that Communique is "just a small in-house
magazine." Creepo. Small in-house Communique with a print run of
70,000. I ought to sue the prick for inferring that I was in-house
with M$. I'd rather have AIDS.

Did you spot Rupert's bullshit? A classic. "...communications has
banished the tyranny of distance, and Australia is well placed
geographically to benefit from this new revolution." ROFL!! In other
words, it doesn't matter where we are, but we're in the right place.

I can see a huge opportunity coming when M$ takes over the Internet
and tries to run it out of Seattle (Seattle!). Why do they think M$
can write an acceptable communications protocol for the World? They
can't even write a bloody coms driver for Windows! It should be
obvious that the Internet can't be controlled, but it *can* be
commercialised, where M$ and other operators take control of the Oz
import nodes and rip off the users to the tune of $6,000 a year. It's
happening already.

But Internet can go root its boot; I see a wonderful opportunity in
FidoNet, or El-cheapoNet, or whatever, where private individuals run
their own net like they do now, at no cost to anyone. They'll need an
el-cheapo graphics package to go with it, won't they?

All this shit about "information" misses the point. What they really
mean, is that if you ask a question, some prick somewhere will answer
it for you. It's not information; it's just communication and the
generosity of strangers. You don't need full audio-visual graphics in
hi-fi and living 3D - it would take a fortnight to write the reply -
what you want is a simple thing for typing and drawing simple
diagrams. The diagram thing is what's missing with Fido (and the
Internet too, for that matter).

If you want to send a multimedia reply, you can attach a file or
better still, give him a local reference where he can download it from
his local BBS... the way it is done now. Billie's grandiose idea of a
centralised clearing house where he can charge fees and censor us, is
exactly the opposite of what anyone wants. Fat chance.

Anarchy rules OK. I have seen the future and it is anarchy.

BTW, I have a foolproof bullshit filter, and the graphics shown in
that 4 corners program were all bullshit. It made me feel inadequate.
I got the feeling that the world was racing away from me so fast that
I can never catch up. In fact, my IQ is in the top 1%, I am a uni
graduate, a top creative electronics engineer, computer literate, and
capable of leading anyone anywhere. If it makes me feel inadequate,
it's bullshit. It's that simple.

What we have, is clever use of the media to panic fuckwit pollies
in various directions, for fun and profit. There is no information
superhighway - it's the telephone line, for Christ's sake! Information
isn't power - KNOWLEDGE is power. Libraries are full of information
and they're run by queer women. I've never thought of a library as a
centre of power. It just shows what a fuckwit I am... all that power
and I missed it. The Internet is about entertainment... and the odd
smart person using it for profit as a cheap comms link.

  Roll on Anarchy!

Regards,
Bob
