Why don't you try leaving your config as it is, and just replacing
the btp.exe from BTPE with the btp.exe from the following things:

The original BT 2.50
BT EE 2.50
BT 2.56
BT 2.59B

and see if the problem still exists.  You can file attach it to me,
so long as you call the files different names, e.g. jeff1.exe, 
jeff2.exe etc.  None of the changes I made should have affected
anything like that, and more likely you got your act together with
the mode command or something.  BFN.
