Perhaps a solar powered / battery backup hybrid vehicle is more viable.  
After all, the odvious question always comes up with this topic - What do you 
do on a cloudy day?  I've heard a rumor about electronic car companies 
springing up, only to be bought by huge companies like chrysler (SP), who put 
the electronic cars on hold, to lessen competition.  Can anyone tell me if 
this holds any truth?  It has been quite awhile since the electronic car was 
first produced, and we havnt seen much outcome from it.
