 About power levels, 110 db is very loud in an average living
 room. To get that level, an amp would need a little over 16 w
 for the 98 db mentioned with loads of headroom left over for
 transits.  I suspect that something else accounts for the
 perceived difference.   Did you bi-amp with the non-carver amps?
