Actually, Bob is quite right.  It is still illegal to tape any copyrighted
off-air broadcasts, and always has been.  They never changed the law, only
relaxed its application insofar as if you record a program for your
personal viewing at a later time, you won't be prosecuted.  Try selling or
hiring it out though, or charging others to view that recorded program, and
you can be in deep shit real fast if you're caught (or dobbed in, more
likely).
