JF> You may end up waiting awhile if you plan on that, though. Phil
JF> Harrison, one of Sony's PR guys, had an interview in NG which
JF> practically said "we think the PSX will last for years on
JF> end." I suspect he may just be keeping the PSX 2 a secret,
JF> but knowing a company who hasn't changed their basic
JF> DiscMan design for years, they may well expect you to keep
JF> your old machine.
I don't care how long it takes. I just meant, the next console i buy
Will be a playstion 2. Unless the nintendo 128 comes out with mostly
no kiddy games a dvdrom drive and all the best hardware. But i won't kid
myself.
JF> Hey, there were a few good-looking games - Sega's own,
JF> mostly. And it even had a few gems unique to itself, like
JF> the Panzer Dragoon series and a few special projects like
JF> Enemy Zero.
Yeah, you're right. Panzer did look good. I just forgot about it.
I liked that fisrt racer that came out for it too. saturn rally?
DM> Yeah but how may people actually play Quake 2 in Linux? about
DM> maybe 5% of all quake 2 player maybe.
JF> The point basically is that there IS that small market
JF> that exists, emphasis on the word small.
Emphasis on SMALL profits
JF> Yep, though it's not done yet (the Neo Geo 64 system being a
JF> critical missing component). I hear its main claim to fame is that
JF> it's a much more 3D fighter than the usual games; you can
JF> step side to side at will. It will probably be
JF> compliciated, but it breaks the mold.
I've played fighters where you can side step. I think figters are
going to fall in popularity. Maybe not now but sooner or later.
There is never a new feature ever. Well there is little un important
ones. But to say the least, they are all the same.
The only thing that is different is the programming style.
Like how capcom's characters react to blows
compared to midway's. The characters in mk react too fast to the
punches etc.
