Hello!
When I joined a Fidonet echo in the 1980s, it was considered good
netiquette to introduce oneself in one's first post.
I am Steven Horn, a Fido veteran who first became a point in 1988 and a
node in 1990 with the same address as I have now. For five years I was the
NC of Net 3409 in Yukon but that dissolved many years ago leaving me the
northernmost Fidonet node [61ø 45'] in North America. When Fido
disappeared in Alaska, I became moderator of ALASKA_CHAT which continues on
even though we continue to look for Alaskan participants.
When not involved in Fido, I am a senior lawyer for the Yukon Government in
Whitehorse. I go out for coffee regularly and we have good coffee in this
small city. I have also driven the Al-Can highway from beginning to end
and the segment from Whitehorse to Dawson Creek another four times.
That's it for now but I'm not talking to Paul Quinn. When I last checked
our local weather, it was -19ø Celsius with another 10ø of wind chill
tacked on.
Take care,
Steven Horn (steven.horn{at}northwestel.net)
