I was talking to a fellow in another echo about my plans to obtain a
parrot and received a message from another person in that echo that
indicated that security system microwave motion detectors will cause
a bird to beat its head against the cage until it dies.
It sounds wierd to me. Does anyone know anything about this? I have
a ham radio station here, and some of my equipment operates in the
microwave bands. I can't see how microwaves would affect a parrot,
(unless you put it in a microwave, hahaha...) but I can see possibly
that an infra-red or ultrasonic motion detector might bother a
parrot.
Thoughts??
