GS>JS> So, what's the detailed scoop on Dan Wessons? I assume they are
retty
GS>JS> tough. I know that the GP-100 is generally considered the strongest
f
GS>JS> revolvers in .357, how does the Wesson rate?
GS>Hi John,
GS>Glad you got a Wesson. My hunting gun is .44 8" DW with ported barrel and
GS>Hogue grips and a Leupold 2x with Buehler mounts. It is one sweet
GS>revolver.
Holy Shweid! That's got to be one huge revolver.
GS>I will put it up against a S&W for accuracy, a Colt for refinement, and
GS>Ruger for reliability. It has put plenty of pronghorn on the table. It
GS>loves my 300 gr. Hornady home loads. 19.4 gr. H110. It is really nice to
Woof. That could put just about anything on the dinner table. 300gr
Hornady, XTPs I take it? I am very very impressed with their performance
in 10mm size, I fired them at various velocities into a water medium, and
got excellent and consistant expansion at anywhere from 970 fps in 200gr
to 1300+fps in 155gr. I ordered some 110gr and 158gr XTPs for the .357.
Also a roll crimp die, I hear a heavy roll crimp is necessary with large
amounts of a slower powder.
Question: When should I start using magnum primers as opposed to
standard?
GS>have both hand free when moving through the "outback" .
Or kitchen. :-)
GS>I was really sorry to hear of the demise of the company. Maybe someone
GS>will buy it up and remanufacture.
I'd be willing to invest in some equipment to make replacement barrels
and such if I had the room.
þ SLMR 2.0 þ I am, of course, any thinking woman's everyday fantasy.
