BL> Mine is red lined at 5500 too, but I've never had it over 5000. BL> The little 3l straight-six spins well, but there's no point. BL> The Holden V6 is supposed to bounce valves. BV> Where do they bounce to ? I've run it out to 175kph already and BV> it was just humming. BL> I don't know if they're updated it, but the original Buick V6 engine BL> used push rods rather than an overhead cam. Push rod engines bounce BL> valves above 6000 rpm and they carry a lot of extra mass overhead on BL> the cam. You hear the engine rev out, and then is just seems to make BL> more noise without going any faster. I never rev my engines that high BL> anyway... even the Bellet that was red hot and span to 7,000 rpm. That's okay then. I don't plan on running out to 6000 RPM very often :) BL> IRS tends to wind up a bit on hairpins and bounce the inside BL> wheel... unless it's done right. That was the one thing I BL> noticed about the Skyline's solid axle and Watt's link - it's BL> better on hairpins. BV> I'll let you know when I've had a chance to check it out. BL> IRS is much better, though. I never knew what axle tramp meant, BL> until I discovered it in the solid-axle Skyline. A solid axle hops; BL> the IRS wriggles, and keeps more of the wheels on the ground more of BL> the time. Actually I think I have found the problem I was noticing. I'll get them to check it tomorrow but I think the Wheel Alignment is out. It seems to be out a smidgin and you don't normally notice it but I think this is what is causing the wriggle I am noticing.
