BV> This is what I think David is leaning towards with his
BV> thread in AVT. The silly part is that he is right but
BV> nobody will give him a go. It is much easier to knock him
BV> down but in reality, David is where the _real_ market is at.

Nope, he is just living in the past, as you are on the same issue.
You will eventually look up and notice the real world has passed you
by. Just like it does at every other step along the way with computing,
there are those that howl, just like Dave is doing now. Look back a few
years later and you will find the world has moved on anyway.

BV> He doesn't sit in an ivory tower with 7,958 other people
BV> working for a corporation which doesn't really need you
BV> to do anything. He is working with people who are employed
BV> by small companies with 5 to 10 PC's

He doesnt actually, what he actually does is be involved in the
training of the dregs of the employment market. A substantial number
of them are so close to unemployable that they are being trained
there at government expense as an alternative to the dole queue.

BV> and every second you fuck around actually costs them money.

Yes, and when they get trained by fuckwits who cant even realise
that those dummys have to be bashed over the head with how to be
productive before they can use it right, they are actually churning
out badly trained droids who at best can just keep doing what they
were trained to do and complete root the productivity of those
small operations because they are so limited.

BV> This is why most businesses still use DOS applications.

You are completely mangling the question of DOS and Win apps and GUIs
and mice. Dave isnt even talking about Win anyway, he is mostly just
howling about the use of a mouse in an app where it makes more sense
to train the users properly so they dont fart around with the mouse
when the keyboard is what they are using. And his grasp of the basics
is so limited that thats only just now starting to dawn on him.
