| subject: | ThreadTermination Methods |
Hello All,
How can I terminate a thread that main() has created when main
exits. Well that's the theme, here's the situation. I'm in a method that's
updating mouse coordinates/button flags of my mouse class. I'm using
blocking reads of the mouse driver. When my main decides to exit I want to
be able to exit the mouse.Update() thread gracefully. I thought of setting
a flag and continually checking the flag on cycles through, but what
happens if I'm still blocked in the mouse driver? Is there a call I can
issue to have the Mouse driver pop me out of the blocking ReadQue()
function? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Should I be using semaphores in some way here?
Paul Rider.
