Do windows comm programs -> |automatically set the port for a higher speed or am I missing -> |something? -> -> Don't worry about control panel, that setting is used mainly if you -> have a serial printer. Your communications software(TM in this case) -> will override what is set in control panel. You are using the -> standard COMM.DRV com port driver in Windows I assume (if you are -> scratching head asking, what??..?? in the back of your mind, then -> the answer is yes). IF it is an external modem, do you have a high -> speed (enhanced, buffered, 16550) serial port? If it is internal, -> have you tried simply moving it to another expansion slot? -> -> -> * WinQwk 2.0 a#470 * jwarner@globalvision.net -> -> -> --- WM v3.10/92-0423 Yes, I am using the comm.drv that came with wfwg 3.11. I have gotten rid of the external Sportster because of problems like slowing down during downloads from a BBS (from 2200 down to 900 bps). Thanks for the response.
