Ferinstance...  I pulled in 1658 messages today from 170 noisegroups.
Of those messages, I would say that over half of them are nothing but SPAM!
But, I am  getting my filters setup better.  That number is down by over 300% 
what I pulled in yesterday and the day before...  And the previous ones were 
90% SPAM, so I am getting somewhere.
Before too long, I am afraid my filter is going to look like *.*.*.*.*.*.*.*
I wonder how many USEFUL items I am actually NOT getting because of the 
filters I have set.  Kinda sad.
