| subject: | TimEd on Linux? |
Hello Gerrit. 05 Feb 03 21:48, you wrote to me: RT>> Used to use TimEd when I ran onDOS and then on OS/2, then MsgEd RT>> with the Husky utils on Linux, then changed to MBSE BBS which RT>> uses JAM bases, and current MsgED does not compile on my main RT>> system the e-smith 4.0 box. :-(( GK> Feel free to report your compiling problems with msged in GK> FIDOSOFT.HUSKY; we will hopefully be able to help you. From what I remember the current MsgEd, required some updated libraries on the e-smith box, and I have no intention fiddling with and updating the libraries on that system, rather wait until I can upgade the box (486DX2 66, 630Meg HDD) and find the time to install a standard distro, and configure it to deliver the services the e-smith box currently delivers. Should JAM support be reported to work well in MsgEd, it will provided me some "momentum" towards doing a standard distro install and the hell with the torpedo's and I can bug the guys in the Linux echo fixing the services I break and cannot get working soon enough, whether I have managed to upgrade the processor and HDD or not.
