From "Take Off" magazine (I'm yet to find an error in one) issue
#27, page 756:
Variants of the Hustler bomber that were never built included
the proposal for a "stretched" B-58B for SAC, a B-58C variant
which would have had Pratt & Whitney J58 engines, the B-58D
long-range, all-weather interceptor for the Air Defence
Command (ADC) also powered by J58s, and a B-58E twin-engine
version for Tactical Air Command (TAC).

Sleek, maybe. Brutish, yes. It looks like a classic piece of
overkill. I'm a big fan of aircraft of the 50s and 60s, and the
B-58 is perhaps not one of the best, but one of the most
memorable for sure.
