A while back someone mentioned having problem with annoying tones in the 
background while trying to listen to some frequencies.  Naturally, I can't 
find that message right now...
I'm sure some of you tech types could whip up a notch filter out of spit and 
toilet paper.  For those of us who can't, however, I stumbled across an 
alternative.
As I've mentioned here before, I feed scanner output through an off-brand 200 
W car stereo amplifier I picked up on sale sometime back.  As I may not have 
mentioned before, this amp has a 10 band graphic equalizer. While listening 
today to somebody who apparently had a loose ground in his mike, it occurred 
to me to start fiddling with the equalizer...
Why didn't I think of that before?
