Oh, they run, all right, but you can't get sound from your soundcard.
Doom 2 is a documented example where you have to direct FX-sound to
the loudspeaker. Dune 2 will sometimes crash when the radar goes up or
down, which is most annoying, as the radar goes down when the power
fails.
