RS> Who fishes in the middle of a lake? Certainly not me. I usually
RS> fish in the Coves, and original river beds, close to shore.
ES> Point well taken, Ray. However, if you have ever been on Lake
ES> Conroe, you would have noticed that it's all shoreline! There are
ES> stumps and grasses even in the middle of that lake.
Never been there, but I sure have been up on Caddo lake. Fished
it by canoe and never did get out in the middle. Stayed back in the
sloughs and trees. That's where all of the fish are.
ES> The original river bed (Trinity River channel) goes thru the
ES> middle of lake Livingston, well off of shore. So if one is fishing
ES> the channel, they are practically in the middle of that lake.
Well, I have fished Medina Lake, Mitchell Lake, Calaveras, and
a few others I can't remember right now, always found plenty
of Coves and inlets to fish in.
ES> Btw Ray, did you know there are no natural lakes in Texas? All
ES> Texas lakes are man-made.
Wrong!!! You must have never heard of Caddo lake. It is the largest
natural Lake in Texas. Go to your nearest Sporting Goods Shop in
East Texas and Pick up a map of it and read up on it. It extends
all the way over into Louisiana. One of those big high powered
Bass boats is no goot there, Canoes are ideal. In fact, if you
fish back in the islands, sloughs, etc, you may not even see
another boat. Love it there.
