Hi Albert. In response to your uploading problems with your USR
Sportster. When I first got mine, I had the same problem. I may not
be able to help you with yours, but I'll tell you how I fixed mine, and
maybe that will help. I too was told to drop the baud rate to 19200 and
up it gradually. However, I kept thinking "I have a 28.8 modem, why
should I not be able to utilize that speed". This is what I did:
1) I changed the init string to ATZ^M~~~AT L3^M
(The AT L3 is to make the my internal modem louder)
2) In the dial list for each board, I checked the default option rather
than an actual baud rate.
3) In the option menu under Dial Setup, there is where I set the
baud rate for 115200.
4) I checked the flow control for RTS/CTS (As I see you have)
5) I made sure the Auto Baud Detect option in the Options menu for
Dial setup was not checked.
Since I have changed all of the above I have had no problems.
I hope this helps.
Also, you mentioned not being able to change your baud rate in the
control panel higher than 19200. Mine is the same. I believe that
the time WFWG came out, that was supposed to be a killer speed for
modems. I don't use a windows comm program, so it really doesn't affect
me anyway.
Good luck, and I hope you figure it all out.
Shirl
