Hi Rob Dennis, hope you are having a nice day
RD> I've been looking thru my stuff and the only mod I have is for MARS/CAP
RD> Will re-read that one and see if it can be reversed.
I haven't managed to find anything around here yet.
Wanna trade mods? ;> I've the rx/tx for the 212 and the 2950
plus the power mod and a `tuneup' for the 2950.
RD> I'd like to find the -supposed- 6m mod for this radio that gets it up on
RD>the SSB area of 6m. (50.00 to 51.100 )
Oooo... That would be nice. I've thought about trying to put together
a transverter for my 2950. I've an older car cell phone case that would
hold just about everything except for the HF amps. 160M - 70c all mode
would be a nice thing to have.
RD> Seen a few hints as to this mod existing, but haven't found one yet that
88
RD> Not sure if this 6m mod was for the old or new 2950 series of chassis.
I must have the old version then. It'll tune 26.0000 to 32.0000
when switched over. I figure a 6Mhz tunable i.f. is a lot easier to
work with than a 1.7Mhz. Too bad it doesn't drop to 24.000. :<
You'd have access to 12, plus set one of the mixer stages to x2
and all of 6.
RD> I have the shop manuals for nearly every rig I own.
RD> Invaluable reference if you want to check a new mod out or service
RD>bulletin to see how or if it works.
That's something I need to try and get for the 212. One for the mic
that came with it wouldn't hurt either. It's a dtmf mic, but it has
a coin cell and a fairly serious microprocessor in it. I'm guessing it's
made where you can preprogram numbers into it, so you don't have to
look at it as much for things like autopatch or dtmf command sequences.
