I find it interesting that in all comparisons I've heard folks compare In
and Out to Whataburger. A friend of mine, in discussing this very same topic
this morning, said it was because Whataburger is the gold standard for fast
food chain burgers. I can't argue with that. Whataburger also doesn't have
the disadvantage of them putting scriptures on your food.
I haven't heard if In and Out is a "fresh meat" burger company like Sonic,
Wendy's, and Whataburger, though I suspect that they aren't, as that's
rather rare out in California due to logistics. (Yes, you can get fresh meat
out there, but fast food places tend not to have that option, and I've been
told there are a dearth of Sonic and Wendy's locations out that way)
