I have friends from California who are absolutely mystified by my
insistance that I can get a better meal at Whataburger without standing in
line. It's all nostalgia. In-n-Out is OK, but just OK. It's just a
frigging burger. At Whataburger, at least I can get a bigger, fresher-
tasting burger with jalapenos. My guess is the newness will wear off just
like the Krispy Kreme others mentioned. There is one of those a couple of
miles from my house. When they first opened, lines were around the block
constantly. Now, you can drive up with no waiting any time of the day.
