| subject: | Borland C++ for OS/2 (ver 2) book. anyone? |
Hello Fri'd!
In a message written on Wednesday May 24 1995, Fri'd P'pal insanely
babbles to All:
FdPp> resent trips to bookstop and barns & noble have turned up
nothing in the
FdPp> way of a book about borland c++ for OS/2 version 2 (or any version for
FdPp> that matter.) i would like any information about a book like this so i
FdPp> may order it. i am a newbie to os/2 coding, but i understand c++ very
FdPp> well. thanks
There are lots of books about OS/2 coding around that use portable C code.
The OS/2 API is constant no matter which compiler you're using, so any
program that sticks to ANSI C + OS/2 API will work fine. I just bought a
book myself ("Real World Programming For OS/2 2.11"), and the
sample code worked with BC++/2, C Set, and Watcom.
If you really get hard-up for finding something, email books{at}xcite.com or
WWW http://www.xcite.com/books. That's the address/website for the
bookstore where I got my book. They have several other books on OS/2
programming as well. If you don't mind paying shiping down to the States,
you'll have no problem getting something to suit your needs from them.
BTW, so you know before the moderator jumps on you, this is a real names
echo, and I kind of doubt Fri'd P'pal is your real name. :-)
