 Lr> Greetings:
Lr> I just started using telemate for DOS. I like it , but am
Lr> having a problem: instaed of displaying the 'CONNECTED at.' message,
Lr> it just sits there counting up. I was having the same problem with
Lr> Telix since I got my new Prometheus Cyberphone 14.4 modem. I've asked
Lr> the mfr for a manual, but it hasn't arrived yet. In the meantime, I
Lr> would appreciate any clues you fine folk could provide. THANKS

Most likely, your modem is not set for verbose responses. When it
connects, instead of sending "Connect" back to the comm program, it is
sending a number which the program does not recognize. You just about
will have to have a book to find the correct software switch to change
so the modem sends words rather than numbers back to the comm program.
*See ya 'round the system, Tom*
